About Ollie
Ollie is a set of free face and style tools made by a small independent team. It began as a celebrity lookalike finder built on a face-recognition model the team wrote and trained from scratch, not a third-party API, and has grown into four tools that all run on the same idea: measure a face carefully, then explain the result in plain English.
What Ollie makes
- Celebrity lookalike: Upload a photo and Ollie's own face-recognition model ranks 5,000+ celebrities by how much they look like you. It's the tool Ollie started with.
- Face symmetry test: Maps 478 points on your face in your browser, mirrors each side and compares the result with thousands of real faces. Your photo is never uploaded.
- Compare faces: Two photos in, a similarity score and a same-person verdict out, from the same face-recognition model.
- Ollie Stylist: A free AI stylist: a face scan in your browser finds your face shape and ranks haircuts, beards and glasses for it, and a realistic model can be dressed in real clothes.
The model behind it
The lookalike and compare tools use Ollie's own model, a 20-layer convolutional neural network (SphereFace architecture) trained from scratch with CosFace loss, on a public research dataset of 5.8 million face photos of 85,742 people. It scores 99.5% on LFW, the standard same-person test, and 96.5% on AgeDB-30, where photos are taken about 30 years apart. Celebrity photos are 40,000+ freely licensed images from Wikimedia Commons, credited next to every match. How Ollie works, in detail.
Your photos
Photos sent for a lookalike search or a face comparison are processed in memory and never stored, logged or used for training. The face symmetry test and the stylist's face scan run entirely in your browser. Ollie never identifies people in photos. The full details are in the privacy policy.
How Ollie is paid for
The tools are free to try. Ollie is paid for by optional plans and credit packs for heavier use, by ads served by Google AdSense on some pages, and by affiliate commissions when you buy something through a shop link in the stylist. Affiliate links are marked, and they never change which haircut, outfit or result Ollie shows you.
The articles
The blog is written and reviewed by the Ollie team. Articles on face recognition draw on the published research and on Ollie's own model and data; style guides are checked against what the stylist actually recommends. When we get something wrong, we fix it and update the date at the top of the article. Spotted a mistake? Tell us at support@ollieml.com.
