The Rule for Heart Shaped Faces
A heart shaped face is widest at the forehead and narrows to a slim chin. The best haircuts move visual weight down: fullness, waves or flicks around the jaw and chin, and a fringe or side part that takes up some forehead. What you avoid is the opposite: height at the crown and hair scraped back from a wide forehead.
If you're not sure you're heart shaped, read the signs of a heart shaped face first; it's often confused with oval and diamond.
Short Haircuts
Long pixie with a side fringe: the fringe covers part of the forehead, and longer pieces around the ears soften the narrow chin. Carey Mulligan, whose face Ollie's scan measured as strongly heart shaped, is well known for wearing a pixie. Chin-length bob: the bob's width sits exactly where a heart face is narrowest, which is why it's one of the most recommended cuts. Add a side part or soft fringe.
Textured bob with flicked ends: ends that kick out at the jaw add width there. Avoid very short crops that are tight around the ears and full on top.

Mid-Length Haircuts
Lob with waves: collarbone length with waves starting around the cheekbones. Shag: keep the volume around the face and jaw rather than the crown. Curtain bangs with a lob: the bangs narrow the forehead visually, and the lob widens the lower face.

Long Haircuts
Long layers from the chin down: movement at and below the jaw. Side-swept bangs with long hair: a diagonal across the forehead plus length. Loose curls or waves that start at the chin. A centre part can work if there's volume at the lower half, but a side part is usually more flattering.

Haircuts for Men With Heart Shaped Faces
Men with heart shaped faces suit medium-length hair with a side part or a textured fringe pushed forward. Keep the sides fuller than a skin fade and avoid a very tall quiff. David Beckham, measured as heart shaped by Ollie's scan, has worn everything from a buzz cut to longer swept-back styles; his longer, textured cuts balance the face best. A beard helps by adding width at the chin.
