What Looksmaxxing Actually Is
Looksmaxxing is getting the most out of the face and body you have. The online version is full of extreme ideas, but almost all of the real gain comes from "softmaxxing": haircut, grooming, skin, sleep, body fat, posture and style. They're cheap, safe and reversible, and they change how your face reads more than people expect.
The useful first step is knowing where you stand, feature by feature, so you fix what moves the needle instead of guessing.
How an AI Rates Your Face
Ollie's looksmax AI places 478 points on your face with Google's MediaPipe model, in your browser (the photo is never uploaded), and scores 8 features out of 100 against well-known proportions:
- Eyes: canthal tilt (outer corners slightly higher reads alert), spacing (about one eye width apart, the rule of fifths) and openness.
- Eyebrows: tilt from the inner end to the tail and how low they sit over the eye.
- Nose: width next to the gap between the eyes.
- Lips and mouth: mouth width about 1.5 times the nose, lower lip about 1.6 times the upper.
- Jawline and chin: jaw and chin width against 9,195 real faces.
- Face shape and harmony: facial thirds and how close the shape is to oval.
- Symmetry: ranked against 3,898 straight-on faces.
- Hair and framing: how much the right cut can do for your face shape.
You get an overall score, a potential score (what grooming, hair, skin and fitness can realistically add) and, with the full report, a glow-up plan built from your three lowest scores. A typical selfie lands around 55 to 70; 75 and up is above average.

The Fixes That Move the Score Most
- Haircut for your face shape. It changes framing, proportions and how long or wide your face looks. Ollie picks the cuts for your shape and lets you try them on your own photo first.
- Brows. Tidy the strays under and between them, never thin the top line, and set them with clear gel. Low, straight, full brows read more intense on men; a soft arch lifts the eyes on women.
- Body fat. The jawline shows at roughly 12 to 15% body fat for men and 20 to 24% for women. Nothing else changes the lower face as much.
- Skin. Cleanser, moisturiser and SPF every day, retinol at night. Even skin makes every other feature look better.
- Beard. The right shape adds jaw where you need it: a short boxed beard lengthens a round face, light stubble keeps a wide jaw from looking wider.
- Sleep and salt. Puffy eyes and a soft jaw are often just water.
- Photos. Arm's length or further, camera at eye level, soft front light. Phones held close make the nose bigger and the jaw smaller.
Skip the risky stuff. Bone smashing, unsupervised supplements and DIY procedures can do lasting damage, and none of them beat the list above.

Rate Your Face in ChatGPT
ChatGPT can't measure your face on its own, but Ollie's free Face Symmetry app adds a rate_my_face tool. Connect it (search for Ollie in ChatGPT's Apps, or add https://www.ollieml.com/mcp/symmetry), attach a selfie and ask "rate my face" or "how do I looksmax?". You get your score out of 100, your potential, symmetry and face shape in the chat, with the full breakdown on Ollie. Setup steps are on the Ollie in ChatGPT and Claude page.

Keep the Score in Perspective
Proportion and symmetry play a part in how faces are judged, but skin, expression, style, confidence and familiarity matter at least as much, and none of them fit in a number. Use the score as a grooming checklist and a way to track your glow-up, not as a verdict on your worth.
